Naughty Is A Swear Word
I get unhappy when someone calls my children naughty. Even as a joke, or playing around. Because I can confidently say they’re not. That’s a swear word.

When I started my blogging journey as Mama To The Power of 4, I was not sure if I was strong enough to do this on my own. Guest blogging, and “hiding” behind other brands was easy enough as I didn’t really put my whole life out there for anyone to see, to judge, or have opinions about. But also not be encouraged by, or just feel they’re not alone.
I’ll be honest – Sleep is probably my favourite part of the day. Most days! So finding the right mattress to provide me with the best sleep, is crucial.
Potty training is one of those eternal parenting challenges. Every time moms with babies or little kids get together, someone will bring it up. Someone will have had no trouble at all, while someone else will believe it’s never going to happen. So I’ve made a list of potty training tips I’ve learned this time around. (And hopefully, for the last time!)
At Momentum’s Women’s Event this week, I listened to Elana Afrika tell us how we, as women, have been brought up to say “sorry” and apologise so easily for any little thing, and I thought to myself, “Not me. I’m happy to say sorry when I’m wrong, but I don’t apologise for everything.”
Recently I came upon an article about the high cost of raising children. I am a mom of four. I know a little about the costs of raising these tiny ones. But if I truly knew how much children would cost us before we had them, I might have just gotten a dog. Scrap that. Dogs are expensive too. I’d get a plant. A cheap, replaceable plant.
Our eldest two children are finally old enough to budget on their own. To understand, earn and save (and certainly ready to spend!!) their own money. Luckily, we have been trying to teach them about money and budgeting from a young age. But because we have never let them do it all themselves, we are now giving this a shot.
I’ll admit it; I’ve always just assumed Women’s Day is just about celebrating all that is woman. That’s why we call August “Women’s Month” and why every single brand is pushing the fact that you should be spoiled, to “do it for all womenkind” and the #girlpower theme that goes with the whole month.
I love my birthday. And even more so because my love language is Gifts! So I plan for my next birthday the month after I just had mine. (Ok, I’m not really that bad…) But this year has happened so fast, I have almost forgotten I’m turning a year older in August. I love getting […]
Someone asked me this weekend what I imagined my life being like 10 or 20 years ago. And she continued, saying “Your life today is probably nothing like you thought it would be like, right?” Without really thinking about it too much, I agreed.
My name is Simone and I am a mom of four, wife to one, and I blog about the joys and experience of living life as a large family.
It is our (continual) journey of faith. Of learning to raise independent, loved, well-behaved children. Keys we have discovered to a successful marriage. How we manage our finances. Products we love, and work for us, and most importantly; how we shop, save, and budget as a large family.
